Maureen T (Flaherty) Geoghegan

It is with great sadness that the Geoghegan Family announces the passing of Maureen T. Geoghegan (nee Flaherty), a long time Jersey City resident and member of St. Aloysius Parish, on March 23, 2024.  

Maureen was born in Wales, U.K. to Patrick and Ann Flaherty (nee Considine). She was raised in County Galway, Ireland with her dear brother, Kevin, by their grandparents, Tom and Nora Flaherty (nee Costelloe).  She emigrated to America in 1962 where she worked as a nanny and clerk before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Patrick J. Geoghegan.

Maureen was predeceased in death by her husband, Patrick J. Geoghegan. She is survived by: her sons John (Sherry Quinn) and Joseph (Fei Yan Liang); daughters, Linda and Lisa Marion (Shawn McCullough); four grandchildren, Jeremy (Janice), Emily, Hayley and Jacob; one great-grandchild, Elena Clare; and a large extended family in the U.S., Ireland and England.  She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ, 07306. (For GPS it is best to use or parking lot address: 14 Stagg St.). Funeral will be on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, with a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Aloysius Church, 691 West Side Ave, Jersey City, NJ, 07304. Entombment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington, NJ.
