Michael "Fitzie" F. Fitzgerald

Michael F. Fitzgerald "Fitzie," 68, a lifelong resident of Jersey City passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024.  

Michael was employed 30 years for the United States Post Office (DVD) in Kearny and retired in 2009.  Michael proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.  

Michael was the beloved husband of Jo Anne Mailly Fitzgerald; devoted father of Jaclyn Fitzgerald and step-father of Kimberly De Paolo and Thomas Petsch; cherished grandfather of Jenna De Paolo, McKenzie Petsch and Cassidy Petsch; dear brother of Barry Fitzgerald and the late Grady Fitzgerald and Karen Zimmerman.

Visitation is on Saturday, April 27, 2024, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306 (For GPS Navigation, it is best to use our parking lot entrance address: 14 Stagg St. Jersey City).  Cremation will be private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org)
