Randolph A. Riotto
Randolph, known as Randy, is the patriarch of the Riotto Funeral Home family. He has been consoling mourners in their hours of need for over a half-century. Although Randy is semi-retired, he remains a vibrant force in the business and community while continuing to direct funerals for his first and second-generation clientele.
Randy, born and raised in the Marion Section of Jersey City, founded Riotto Funeral Home with his mother Mary Riotto Dolcemascolo in 1958. The original location was in the Sparrow Hill Section of the Heights in Jersey City.
Randy’s grandparents Guiseppe & Concetta Tedesco were pillars in the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish and were instrumental in guiding Randy to becoming the first neighborhood funeral director.
Randy began his career working for both Christian and Jewish funeral homes in New York and New Jersey. Randy, a licensed New Jersey and New York funeral director since 1950 attended McAllister School of Embalming & Funeral Directing in New York, NY.
Prior to that, Randy attended Dickinson High School in Jersey City where he met his wife the former Olga Switlyk. After high School, Randy served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Randy and Olga have raised three children Randy Jr., Lorraine and Richard.
Over the years, Riotto Funeral Home has become a landmark on the corner of Stagg St. and John F. Kennedy Blvd in Jersey City. In the early years, Randy demonstrated his eagerness to serve others in the community through many civic and charitable organizations. He still remains active in many of these organizations.
In 1961 Randy Sr. served as commissioner of the Sewerage Authority of Jersey City under Mayor Thomas Gangemi Sr. Randy is a member of the Hudson County Funeral Director’s Association, and served as its President in 1965. He served as President of Unico National, Jersey City Chapter in 1966. Randy is also a longtime member of Rotary, Jersey City, National Funeral Director’s Association, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Logan Sports Club, Forest Hill Field Club, American Legion and a trustee of the Dante Alighieri Society.
Randy was selected as the 1991 Italian American of the Year by the Dante Alighieri Society of Jersey City and the Hudson County Columbus Day Parade Committee. Randy was also privileged to serve as the “Voice of Columbus” for two years. In 2001, Randy served as the Grand Marshall for the Columbus Day Parade and received a proclamation for his achievements by Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham. In 1991 Randy was inducted in to the Wm. L. Dickinson High School Hall of Fame for his outstanding achievement and moral character.
Randolph M. Riotto
Randy Jr. is the Vice President of Riotto Funeral home. Randy is a graduate of American Academy McAllister Institute in New York, NY and has been a New Jersey State licensed funeral director since 1978.
Born in Jersey City, Randy is a graduate of St. John the Baptist Grammar School, Jersey City, Marist High School, Bayonne, St. Peter’s College, Jersey City and received his MBA at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutherford.
Randy is a member of the National Funeral Director’s Association & the Dante Alighieri Society, Jersey City. Randy Jr. is a WWII historian and a member of the 8th Air Force Historical Society the 2nd Air Division.
Richard J. Riotto
Richard, manager of Riotto Funeral Home, oversees all aspects of the business. He is known for his personal and intimate approach to funeral services. Richard is routinely on call 24 hours a day to personally guide families through the very difficult process of funeral arrangements for their loved ones.
Richard continually seeks to enhance and expand services to better serve clients while paying special attention to the smallest details. He is responsible for launching many innovative services designed to provide clients with memorials that far exceed their expectations. A few of his accomplishments include launching the Riotto Funeral Home Website with online condolence emails that can be viewed by mourning families.
Richard is a life long resident of Jersey City and is very active in the community and parishes.
Richard is a licensed funeral director with over 26 years of funeral service experience. He is a graduate of the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. Richard is a member of the National Funeral Director’s Association. He attended Pace University in New York, NY.
Richard is a graduate of Marist High School, Bayonne, and Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic School, Jersey City.
Toni Marie Pagliarini
Toni Marie Pagliarini, a licensed funeral director, has been working for the Riotto Funeral Home since 2006. She is a graduate of the Mercer Community College Mortuary Program and a licensed funeral director for 9 years.
Toni Marie was born and raised in Franklinville, NJ and lived in Philadelphia, PA before relocating to Jersey City in 2006.
Toni is an exceptional addition to the Riotto Funeral Home , bringing both experience and compassion to all the families we honor and serve.
