Alba Loiacono

Albina "Alba" Loiacono, 84 a lifelong resident of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on February 3rd at Jersey City Medical Center.  Born November 22, 1931 in Jersey City to the late Frank & Angelina Pisano, she was a life long resident of downtown Jersey City.   Alba worked for over 20 years in the Tax Office for the City of Jersey City, retiring in 2000.   She enjoyed the simple things in life, sitting on the stoop in the nice weather socializing with neighbors, walking to the drug store to get her scratch offs and lottery tickets, playing Bingo at Holy Rosary School Hall, & going to the Holy Rosary's Feast every night to mingle with her friends.  Her "colorful" vocabulary and subtle smile will undoubtedly bring a smile to anyone who recalls her memory.  She is predeceased by her husband, John "Butchy", her siblings, Cosmo & Tony, Lena Seahorn & Mary Biancamano.  She is survived by her daughter Maria DelPiano, her grand children, Olivia Santora & Steffan DelPiano & 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many dear friends.   Visitation will be held at the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, tonight, Friday, February 5th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  A Cremation will take place privately.  A repast will be held on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Community Room of Padua Court, 360 6th St., Jersey City.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to La Festa Italiana (Holy Rosary's Feast) to either the Rice Ball or Cafe Stands in her memory.
