Albina Cassano

Albina Cassano (nee Matteo), 86, of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.  Albina was born in Avellino, Italy, and also lived in Argentina before immigrating to Downtown, Jersey City in 1970.  

Albina worked for her brother, Eduardo Matteo at MRP Fashions, Jersey City.  She loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren.  Albina was also an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting. 

Albina was the beloved wife of the late Rocco Cassano; devoted mother of Maria (Salvador) Guzman; Daniel (Marianne) Cassano, Ann Patricia (Nicholas Kerr) Cassano, Raquel (Bonifacio, Jr) Trueba; loving grandmother of Nicole, Abigail, Gabriella and Nicole Rose; cherished great-grandmother of Evangeline; dear sister of Carmine and Augustino Matteo.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 6, 2017, 3-5pm and 7-9pm at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306.  Funeral will begin on Saturday, October 7, 2017, 9am at the funeral home.  Funeral Mass will follow 10am at St. Nicholas Church, Jersey City.  Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
