Carmine Ranisi, age 80, of Jersey City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Carmine was born in Salerno, Italy and moved to Jersey City in the 1960's. He was a trained plumber and welder, retiring after 35 years from Swepco Company, Clifton. Carmine had an amazing sense of humor and a passion for life. He loved animals, especially his dogs Mia and the late Zoe. His love for the Italian countryside, fishing, reading, history, tinkering around with home projects, and old movies and most of all loved his love for his grandchildren.
Beloved husband of 45 years to Antonietta (De Angelis); loving father of Eleonora Lapidus & husband Steven, Francesco Ranisi and Luca Ranisi; cherished grandfather of Elisiya Medrano & husband Jose, Aaron Gadsden, Emilia Lapidus and great grandfather of Aria Gadsden; dear brother of Lucia Marchese, Olga Bove, Giuseppe Ranisi and the late Alfonsina, Rafaele and Enrico Ranisi and Bengamina Lancelotti and Rosa DeLuca; Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2016 from 4-8 PM at Riotto Funeral Home. Funeral Will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 with a 10 AM arrival at Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington, NJ. Memorial Contributions can be made to Amedisys Hospice of Hackensack.
