Ekaterini Kakogiannis

Ekaterini Kakogiannis, 96, of Jersey City, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2017.  Born in Athens, Greece, Ekaterini was the beloved wife of the late Andreas Kakogiannis.

Ekaterini was the devoted mother of Anastasia (Nikos) Platakis and Konstantinos (Sohair Dib) Kakogiannis; ex-mother-in-law to Ourania Aggelatou; dear grandmother to Katherine (John) Emmanouilidis, Elena (Brittney) Tyler, and Maria (Jesse Schnackenberg) Kakogiannis. She is also survived by two great-granddaughters, Alexandra and Sophia Emmanouilidis, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. In eternal rest, Ekaterini joins her 6 pre-deceased siblings.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, 6:00pm to 8:00pm with a Trisagion Service at 6:00pm.  Family and friends will assemble for a Funeral Mass on Thursday, March 30, 2017, 10:00am at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church, 661 Montgomery St., Jersey City.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, 500 Fairview Ave., Fairview 07022.
