John F Norton

John F. Norton, age 75, a lifelong resident of Jersey City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2016.  He was an active volunteer of St. Anne's Church and always prepared the church for the Saturday evening Mass. John graduated from Dickinson H.S., and after graduating proudly served in the US ARMY. When returning from the ARMY, he married his high school sweetheart, Linda Rega.  He worked and  retired from Conrail after 32 years of service and was a Yard Master.  John was a hard working man devoted to providing for his loving family.  When not working he mostly enjoyed taking family camping trips to "Otter Lake Camp Resort", where the entire family camped, went fishing and spent time around the campfire. 

Beloved husband of 51 years to Linda (Rega) Norton; Loving father of John Norton & wife Leah, Linda Ferguson & husband Richard, Jeffrey Norton and Steven Norton; Cherished Pop-Pop of Jessica, Jenifer, Abigail, Samantha, Julia, James, Richard Jr., Kristina, Daniel, Alexis and Brandon; Dear brother of Thomas Bulger, Marilyn Wright, Trudy Dobres Patricia Jolicoeur and the late Eileen Toth and Robert Norton. 

Visitation from Riotto Funeral Home on Friday, October 28, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.  Funeral on Saturday, October 29, 2016, 10 AM arrival at the funeral home.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anne's Church at 11 AM.  Cremation will be private.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, cards will be provided at the funeral home.
