Maria Finnerty

Maria Finnerty (nee Ciparro), 93, of Hoboken, formerly of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on January 19, 2017.  Born in Jersey City to the late Dominic and Marietta Ciparro, she lived here most of her life.  She was a Corrections Officer for Hudson County for many years, retiring 14 years ago.  Maria was an excellent cook and loved by all of her friends and family.  She was an avid Bingo and Card player, especially playing Gin Rummy with her girlfriend Claire.  Everyday she had her routine of playing the Pick-It and buying her scratch offs.  

Maria is the beloved mother of Mark Anthony & his wife Regina, Gloria Jean Martorana & her husband Carl; Loving grandmother of Dana Martorana & Ashley Gambino; Cherished great-grandmother of Gianna & Gemma Gambino; Dear sister of Eleanor Celia & John Ciparro.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Visitation will be held at the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm  Funeral will begin on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, 8:15am at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will follow 9:30am at Our Lady of Grace Church, Hoboken.   Cremation will be held privately.
