TIRELLA, Alfred W. "Kayo" 88, of Jersey City, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010.  Alfred was a life long resident of the Marion Section in Jersey City.

Alfred was a WWII Army Veteran who served in the Battle of the Bulge and received the Purple Heart.  He was a member of the 50 Plus Club of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Jersey City.

Alfred is the beloved husband of the late Rose; devoted father of Alfred R. Tirella, Renee Tirella Cassidy and husband Ronald; loving grandfather of Adam Tirella; dear brother of the late Henry, Peter, Albert, Eugene and Anthony Tirella, Josie Ruggiero, Mildred DeVito and Emily Tessalone; also survived by loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation is from RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME, 3205 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, on Wednesday 7-9 pm and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 pm.  Funeral is on Friday, September 17, 2010, 9:30 am at the funeral home.  Funeral mass will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 am.  Entombment in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 99 Broadway, Jersey City, NJ 07306

Renee & Family, I was deeply saddened to hear of the loss of your dear dad. From growing up as a child on Romaine Ave and 2 doors away as neighbors i can always remember that beautiful smile and softspoken man - Al the Mailman - Your Dad. He is know in a better place with Dignity, and no pain or suffering and has now joined Mom in the leaque we call our Angels - Until we all meet again someday, may he rest in peace.. I know this is a tremendous loss, and we are so sorry. Your Dad will always live on in your hearts & lives. He is home with God now & will watch over you and guide you with his love and amazing spirit. How blessed he was to have had such a devoted and sweet Daughter.
