Flor Daliza Cabrera

Flor “Fior” Daliza Cabrera Valdez, age 83, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 6, 2024. She was born on March 24, 1940 to Balbina Valdez and Marco Evangelista Cabrera in Yaguate, Dominican Republic. In search of a better life, Fior immigrated to New York in 1967 and worked tirelessly as a factory worker, baker, and childcare provider. After many years, she successfully brought her entire family from Santo Domingo and continued to provide shelter and support to all of those who followed. She was lovingly known as “Mami Fior” for her love, generosity and thoughtfulness. Her family and friends meant everything to her.

She is survived by her loving children: Giovanni, Magnolia, Luisa, and Mildred, stepdaughter Xiomara, as well as her caring sisters: Argentina (Tina), Nilcia (Ñañi), Deysi (Tita), and the late Osvaldo and Sonia Cabrera. She leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and a host of treasured nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Monday, March 11, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City. (For GPS Navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street).  Funeral is Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Funeral mass is at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 99 Broadway, Jersey City. Entombment will follow at Holy Name Mausoleum, 823 West Side Ave., Jersey City.
