Raphaëlle Marie Salgado

Raphaëlle Marie Salgado was called by God to receive her angel wings on April 1, 2024, following her fierce and courageous fight against cancer. She was surrounded by family as she made her transition into God’s loving arms. 

Raphaëlle, affectionately known as Lelelle, Phaëlle, Princess Sweetie Pie and BB, was born at 5:19 PM on October 30, 2020, to parents José Salgado and Rachel Augustin-Salgado. Raphaëlle was known to her family, friends and teachers as precocious, bright, curious, funny, brave, and empathic. She enjoyed telling stories that reflected her expansive imagination. She loved to sing nursery rhymes and Christmas songs alike, read along with her parents or older sisters before bedtime, or to her younger sister Anana after they were finished fighting over the same book. She was tasked with and ensured everyone at home would come together every evening to recite The Lord’s Prayer. She loved her family unconditionally. Her favorite foods were Mac N Cheese, Peanut Butter sandwiches, Arroz con Pollo and Tostones. She enjoyed school, solving puzzles, building Blanket Fortresses, taking trips to the park, or blowing bubbles with her family outside home. Her favorite shows were Bluey, Ms. Rachel, Peppa Pig and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Her favorite colors were pink, yellow and blue. She had a smile that could light up a city, a laugh equal parts coy and beguiling, and eyes that radiated love and warmth. 

Raphaëlle is survived by her loving parents, José and Rachel, her sisters Emma, Eva, and Anastacia, whom she lovingly referred to as her baby. Raphaëlle is predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Fritz.

Services to commemorate Raphaëlle Marie’s impact to all whom knew her include a private viewing on April 18th at Riotto Funeral Home, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07306, and a Celebration of Life service at Circle of Prayer Church, 449 Wayne St., Jersey City, NJ 07306. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Uniondale, NY on April 20th, 2024 at 9:30am. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, 742 Rutherford Ave, Lyndhurst, NJ 07071.
