Alysa Matos Obituary

Alysa Alexis Matos, 20 of North Bergen, entered into eternal rest on June 23, 2019.  Born in Brooklyn, NY she lived in North Bergen and was an amazingly talented freelance artist.

Alysa was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece and cousin to her family. She was a beautiful young woman who could brighten the room with her smile and laugh. Alysa often made her family and friends feel loved whether it was being silly with them or spending time with those she loved and cared about.  She loved art and spent time being creative through her drawing, painting, makeup artistry and graphic design. Her family loved her as a beautiful and caring person who we have all watched grow up from a child with curly hair to a beautiful young woman. We all will miss her immensely as she has traveled onto another place. She connected with her family and friends in a way that will be missed and treasured by us all. We know she will watch over all of us as one of God's angels and continue to shower us with her love.

She is survived by her mother, Jessica Barreto, her father, Vincent James Matos, her stepfather, Javier Castillo, Sr., siblings; Marcus, Bianca & Javier, Jr., Castillo, her grandparents; Yvette & Arthur Walker, Edgar Rivera, Dora Borrero, Carlos Matos, Margie Matos & the late, Heriberto Cintron, her aunts & uncles; Lorenzo Guzman, Heriberto Cintron, Jr., Alexis Guzman, Lynette Cintron, Mildred Rivera, Vanessa Rivera, Lisa Matos, Joselyn Matos and Lynette Matos.  She is also survived by many cousins and great friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Co., 3205 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ (For GPS use 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City).   Cremation will be held privately.
