Angela R. Monteleone

Angela R. Monteleone (nee Ricciardi) 83, of Wood-Ridge, formerly of Jersey City, passed away peacefully on Thursday September 26th 2019.  She was co-owner and operator of Monteleone’s Bakery where she worked side-by-side with her husband Carmine for 42 years.  Retiring in 2003, she continued to be a presence in the bakery, warmly greeting and speaking to customers daily until her passing.  She will be fondly remembered at her spot in the front of the store, and for her caring and generous nature to everyone she touched.

Angela graduated Lincoln High School in Jersey City.  She was very active in St. John the Baptist Church and School for many years, as a member of the Rosary Society, bingo committee and school librarian.  She was dedicated to the wonderful works of Hudson Hospice.  Angela loved going to shows at the Arts Center with her husband, and trips to Cape May, NJ and Lancaster, PA with her family.  She enjoyed NJ lottery scratch–off tickets, TV ‘Lawyer’ shows and the NY Yankees.

Angela is survived by her devoted spouse of 62 years, Carmine; her son Michael and daughter-in-law Jenny, grandchildren Joe and Angela, and her nieces and nephews, Lisa, Guido, Stella, Gigi, Billy, Peter, John, Ann, Kaysie, Mark, Juana and their children.  She was pre-deceased by her parents, Angelo and Jennie Ricciardi, and her five siblings, Tony, Frances, JoMarie, Danny and Phyllis.

Visitation is Tuesday October 1, 2019 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Riotto Funeral Home, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306. (For GPS Navigation use parking lot address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City).  Funeral will begin on Wednesday October 2, 2019, at 9:00am at Riotto Funeral Home.  Funeral Mass will follow 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Church, 3026 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306.  Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ 07031.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Hudson Hospice, 93 Clerk St., Jersey City, NJ 07305
