Angelo J. Maietta

Angelo J. Maietta, 62, of Bayonne, formerly of Jersey City passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. 

Angelo worked for 28 years with the Jersey City Department of Public Works and retired in 2017.  He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the New York Mets.  Angelo enjoyed fishing, watching wrestling and spending time with family.

Angelo was the beloved husband of Vera Vega; devoted father of Raffaele “RJ” & Judy Maietta, Gina Marie Maietta and her partner Giovanni Castro, Eileen Sanes, Benjamin Sanes and fiancé Amy McCloskey, Angelo Vega and the late Angelo V. Maietta; loving grandfather of Mia Parada, Gia V. Maietta, Lucas G. Maietta, Brianna Marie Sanes; dear brother of Filomena Maietta & Raul Planes, Lucia Maietta-Muia & Paul Muia; cherished uncle of Maria Mainolfi, Jose Planes, Juana Planes, Anthony Nunez and Victoria Nunez; loving great-uncle of Nikko Jamison and Peyton Borel; loving godfather of Carmela Cioffi-McAndrew and Brianna Marie Sanes.  

Visitation is on Wednesday, November 27, 2019, 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306 (For GPS Navigation it is best to use the parking lot entrance address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City).  Everyone will meet for a Funeral Mass on Friday, November 29, 2019, 10:30 AM at St. Nicholas Church, Jersey City.  Cremation will be private.  There will be no services on Thanksgiving.
