Daniel was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. He was also a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of America, and dedicated much of his time to teaching and camping with the younger generations of Boy Scouts. He was an adamant Giants Fan, an extremely sociable person, and above all, he was the best Husband and Father anyone could ask for.

Daniel was predeceased by his Parents: Virginia and Gerard Chiara, and his Sister: Anna Fisher.
He is survived by his Cherished Wife: Joyce Chiara; His Loving Daughter: Karen Adatto and Husband Eli; His Beloved Son: Gerard Chiara; His Grandchildren: Brian Adatto and Wife Jill; Cindy Adatto; and Dawn McGhee and Husband Mike. Also surviving are his Brother in-laws: Jim Fisher, Joseph Meehan and his Wife Barbara; His Sister in-law Doris, and many loving Nephews and Great Grandchildren.

A Visitation for Daniel will be held on Monday, September 11, 2017, 2:00PM to 5:00PM and 7:00PM to 9:00PM. Funeral will begin on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, 9:00AM at the Funeral Home, 10:00AM at St. Anne's Church, Jersey City. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
