Dorothy M. "Nana" Lee, 97, of Jersey City passed away peacefully on September 25, 2019. She is a grammar school graduate, a life-long supporter and, in 1997, the recipient of Parishioner of the Year Award from St. Nicholas Church. She graduated from Dickenson High School.
After graduation, she worked for Liturgical Vestment Company, Woolworth & Co. and later, in Information Services for New Jersey Bell. She retired from Bell as a Supervisor after 20 years, after which she obtained a NJ Real Estate License.
When she stopped working she became involved with the Friends of Muhlenberg Gardens, where she lived, and became President of the Tenants’ Association. Throughout her life she made many friends with whom she traveled the world.
Dorothy is survived by her loving daughter Hazel and spouse Robert; daughter-in-law Diane; sister-in-law Dorothy Hansen; grandchildren Diane, Nick and partner Cheryl, Dawn, Kirk and spouse Cynthia, Mark and spouse Barbara. She is also survived by her 14 great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, her many loving family members and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Hjalmar "John" and Freda Hansen; her son Gordon; her siblings Albert, John and Emma; and by her grandson Kyle.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City. (For GPS Navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street). Funeral is Monday, September 30, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Nicholas Church in Jersey City; interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
