Felice Sorrentino, 91 of Jersey City, entered into eternal life on August 3rd at Jersey City Medical Center. Born in Palma Campania, Naples, Italy he resided in downtown Jersey City since 1958. Felice served in the Italian National Army and worked as a meter reader in Italy. In 1957 he married his beloved wife, Aurora and moved to America where they settled in Jersey City. He had a long career with New Jersey Transit as an Electrical Supervisor, rebuilding locomotives. He also owned and operated his own Electrical Contracting business. Felice was a member of the IBEW and NJ Transit unions and member of the Columbus Democratic Club, Casa Colombo and the Cucci Club of downtown Jersey City. He was fixture on Brunswick Street as he could often be seen outside his house or walking the village.
He is predeceased by his wife, Aurora & his siblings in Italy, Michelina, Rosa, Maria and Francesco.
He is the cherished father of Nicholas Sorrentino & his wife, Barbara, & of Anna Maria Cerchio & her husband Francis, beloved grandfather of Felicia & Nicholas Sorrentino & Jennifer & Jonathan Cerchio, great-grandfather to Joseph Cardoso & loving brother of Giuseppina (Italy). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 7th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Co.,(RiottoFH.com) 3205 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
