Gennaro Ferrari

Gennaro Ferrari, 88, of Jersey City, lovingly known as “Pop or Nonno,” passed away on Monday, December 2, 2019 surrounded by his caring family.  Gennaro was born November 21, 1931 in Vaccarizzo Albanese in the province of Cosenza Calabria, Italy and immigrated to Jersey City in 1964. He cherished his family above all else, as they were the most important part of his life.

Gennaro is predeceased by his loving wife of 45 years, Nicolina Ferrari; by his parents, his brother Eduardo, and by his sisters Rina Ferrari and Rosina Castano.   He is the devoted father of Antonio Ferrari, Gennaro Ferrari and Dina Kosc, Arsenio and Donna Ferrari; a loving grandfather to Nicolas and Gianna; a dear brother of Maria Farinaro; and he is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation for Gennaro is Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street).  There will be no services on Friday, December 6th.  Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 9:00 AM at the funeral home.  Funeral Mass is 10:00 AM at St. Anne’s Church, 3545 John F. Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, N.
