Israel Medina

Israel Medina (83) of Jersey City passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 surrounded by his family.  Israel was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico where he met his wife Liduvina “Luz”. They relocated to Brooklyn, NY and finally settled in Jersey City, NJ in 1973.  He was a devoted METS fan and loved playing Dominoes and Parchessi.

Israel is survived by his wife, Liduvina Medina, Daughters, Marilyn Garcia, Mary Luz Rosario, Damaris Medina and sons Eliud Medina and Edwin Medina.  Israel was also the beloved father of his late children Eduardo Medina, Juan Velez & Suehay Santana, who he raised as his own.  Father-In-Law to Felix Garcia, Amanda Medina and Bobby Rosario.  Israel was mostly known as “PAPA” to his Grandchildren: Patricia, Melissa, Anthony, Edwin Jr., Angilina, Jacob, Alia-Paige, Ariel, Abriel and Great-Grandchildren, Nacier, Yasmine, Alyssa, Mia Luz, Ziara and Haylie.  He will truly be missed.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 30, 2017, 6:00pm to 9:00pm at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306 (For GPS Navigation it is best to use parking lot entrance address: 14 Stagg St.).  Funeral will begin on Friday, December 1, 2017, 9:15am at Our Lady of Mercy Church Jersey City.  Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00am.  Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
