Joseph Antonio Olivieri

Joseph A. Olivieri, 87, of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 4, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. 

Born in Frosinone, Italy to the late Francisco and Filomena, he moved to Montreal, Canada in his early 20s where he married Lidia Palombo in 1956 and had his two adoring daughters, Linda and the late Philomena (who passed away in August 2017). He migrated to Jersey City in 1969 where he worked as a furrier in New York City. He loved to visit with his family in Brooklyn, Queens, Rhode Island, Italy and NJ. He loved his vacations with his family and listening to music. 

He is survived by his cherished wife, Lidia, beloved father of Linda Peterson and her husband, Jeffrey. He was the proud and loving grandfather of Lea and Joseph.  He was loved and respected by all who knew him and he always had a smile on his face.  

A visitation for Joseph will be held on Monday, July 8, 2019, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Funeral Home (For GPS use our parking lot address 14 Stagg St., Jersey City.). A funeral mass will follow, 12:00 PM at St. John the Baptist Church, Jersey City. Entombment to take place at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
