Kevin Michael Scott

Kevin Michael Scott, 61, passed away on January 12, 2020.  He was a lifelong resident of Jersey City, NJ.  He volunteered at St. Anne’s Church for everything. He was a past president of the “Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of Hudson County,” and a very active member of the community where he volunteered with the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick at the Jersey City Irish festivals.  He was always outdoors promoting people to vote and worked every election.  He enjoyed going to parks to watch movies and enjoyed all the street fairs.  In his youth, he was selling newspapers to help support his family.  Everyone will remember him as “Mr. Kevin of Central Avenue!” His passion in life was to help people and make them laugh.  He enjoyed dancing at all the family parties as well.  Kevin was involved in charity work and always was available to lend a helping hand.  He was proud to march in all of the St. Patrick’s Day Parades in Jersey City, Bayonne, and in New York.  He never missed a parade.  He loved very much and was very dedicated to his family, and was always watching out for them, especially his nieces and nephews.  He also was a fan of Jets and Mets.  His family will remember him as the “Legend of Jersey City.”

Kevin is survived by his devoted siblings: Robert Scott Jr (Peggy), Denise Julian, Donna Scott (Alberto Sanchez), John Scott (Lori), and Ron Scott (Laura); and many nieces and nephews, and caring friends. He is predeceased in life by his parents, Robert J. and Bernice (Meyer) Scott; his siblings, Diane, Debra, Ann Palmer, and Gary Scott.

Visitation is Thursday, January 16, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street).  A prayer service will be offered during visitation.  Funeral will occur Friday, January 17, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, N. Arlington.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations in honor of Kevin’s memory to his family.
