Nancy Di Geronimo Obituary

Nancy Louise Di Geronimo (née Legregin), of Hazlet, formerly of the Marion Section of Jersey City, wife of the late Michael, daughter of the late Helen (Esposito) and Harry (Squarehead) Legregin, sister of the late Lou, passed away at home on October 4, 2019, surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness.

Nancy is survived by her children, Michael, Joseph and Nancyanne. She is also survived by the grandchildren that adored her and gave her life and purpose, Peter and Christian Midgley-Di Geronimo, Jordan and Angelica Midgley, and Jessica and Rocco Di Geronimo. One of her greatest joys was her great-grandson, Sebastian Ikaika Midgley who serenaded “grandmother” with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star during the end of her life. Nancy is also survived by her loving sisters Betty Lamego and Joan (Shaw) Legregin as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Nancy retired from the Jersey City Board of Education after 22 years and has remained friends with all she worked with.

Riotto Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. As per her request, there will be no viewing and cremation will be private. Condolences can be sent directly to the family.
