Rosetta Di Angelo, 85 of Toms River, formerly of Jersey City, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at her home. Born January 22, 1934 in Jersey City to the late Mario “Pretty Mickey” Pecoraro & Ida (nee: Vezzozi), she lived most of her life in Jersey City. She married her late husband, Louis V. Di Angelo at Holy Rosary Church in 1953.
She was employed as a Teacher’s Aide for the Jersey City Public Schools System for many years, retiring at age 75.
A devout parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, Jersey City, Rosetta was intimately involved in much of Parish life. She taught CCD (Religious Education) for 35 years, served as a Eucharistic Minister for 32 years, served on the Parish Council for over 20 years, sang in the Parish choir under many Music Directors, remains a member of the Rosarians (since 1968) and served as President and Treasurer and was involved in numerous fundraising events for the church. She especially enjoyed volunteering with the Annual Parish Festival (La Festa Italiana) every August as it was a great time to reunite with friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis V. Di Angelo & her son, Michael Di Angelo.
She is survived by her beloved son, Louis P. Di Angelo, her daughter in law, Cirleida “Nina” Di Angelo, grandchildren, Danny, Desiree, Melissa & Mary, & her great-grandchildren, Lia, William Lilian & Sebastian. She is also survived by her special cousins, who she more considered siblings; Sandra Mamrosh, Rose Marie Yurecko & Joseph Tonti.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. at the Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Co., 3205 Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ. (For GPS address, use 14 Stagg Street).
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be offered at Holy Rosary Church, 344 Sixth St., Jersey City, NJ at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Rosary Church in her memory.
