Adeline Stanberry

Adeline Stanberry, also lovingly known as Addie, a lifelong resident of Jersey City, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, December 7, 2025. Though she valued her privacy and lived a quiet life, Addie’s powerful personality and sharp wit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born and raised in Jersey City, Addie possessed a formidable will and a fiercely independent spirit. Her strength of character was matched by her infectious and wonderfully wild sense of humor. When she chose to step into the spotlight, Addie had a rare ability to command attention, lighting up any room with her presence and unmistakable perspective.

When she was not impressing friends with her charm, she was delighting them in the kitchen. A self described late bloomer in cooking, Addie more than made up for lost time, pouring her abundant love into robust meals and comforting baked goods, that became treasured memories themselves, for family and friends alike.

Above all, Addie was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her beloved son, Christopher and his loving wife Ellen, and her cherished grandson, Logan. She instilled in them the resilience, humor, and strength that defined her own life.

In keeping with Addie’s wishes for privacy, the family will hold a small memorial gathering on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to embrace their inner strength and share a genuine laugh and a good meal with those they love.
