Adin Figueroa, 82 of Jersey City, entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at her home. The community mourns the death of ADIN FIGUEROA or simply “Adin” as she was affectionately known. Born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico to the late Jesus Figueroa and Ramona Ortiz, Adin was one of eight siblings and sixteen nieces and nephews.
She lived in Jersey City since the 1950’s. She is predeceased by her daughter Linda Rivera who passed in (2004) and survived by her grandson Christian Saint Sanchez and three great grandchildren, in addition to many dear friends.
As a pillar in the Puerto Rican community, Adin was consistent in making her presence known and her voice heard when issues impacted the voiceless and vulnerable members of the community. While family members mourn her death, and friends lament the loss of an icon for marginalized groups and individuals, all will miss the humanitarian light that Adin shined on everyone she encountered. Never tired, never weary, she gave her time and service to those in need.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Riotto Funeral Home (14 Stagg Street, Jersey City).
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, August 28th at 10:00 a.m. at Second Reformed Church, 940 Summit Ave., Jersey City, NJ. Burial will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. All are requested to meet directly at the church on Saturday morning.
