Allan Harold Thoreson of Jersey City, NJ, peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, November 19, 2022. Allan was born in Ellsworth Iowa on August 27,1941 to Bill and Selma Thoreson. After graduating from Ellsworth High School, he attended Luther College and Iowa State University to eventually jumpstart his career. In 1961, he settled down with his first wife, Ann Sogard, and then went on to have three beautiful children to start his family. He eventually took his career all over the states, searching for his final home. Furthermore, he finally found his beloved home of Jersey City, NJ and proceeded to grow his role in society with his career in Sabrett Hotdogs. A stroke of fate hit Allan when he met a coworker, later to be the love of his life, Silvia Figueroa; in 2002 they were happily married.
Allan was the type of guy everyone loved to be around and enjoyed being acquainted with. He was one of the most reliable and intelligent men his close friends were to ever know. Allan was an avid sports fan as he loved watching The NY Mets and NY Jets. He enjoyed swapping sports stories and friendly banter with his peers. He adored his family and was so proud of his grandchildren. Allan Thoreson was admired and loved by those family and friends around him and will be missed by those left to cherish. Allan’s loving Wife Silvia Thoreson; Children Lori (Jim) Oatts, Tamera (Jason) Wilson, Chad (Ruth) Thoreson, Ramon (Donna) Figueroa; Grandchildren Christian Oatts, Jefferson Oatts, Eric Oatts, Quinn Stigers, Jackson Stigers, Kaden Wilson, Andre Figueroa, Alex Figueroa, Ariana Figueroa; Brother Larry (Judy) Thoreson, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A visitation for Allan will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home (For GPS, please use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City, NJ 07306). Cremation will be private.
