Anastasios Hotis, 90, of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 3, 2024
Anastasios K. (Tom) Hotis was born on October 24, 1934 in Sanga, Greece. He immigrated to the United States via Ellis Island in 1951 to join his uncles in Jersey City. He owned and worked at MC Luncheonette, also known as Borden's, on the corner of Montgomery and Baldwin for over 65 years. Tom most enjoyed telling his stories to anyone who would listen. Tom worked extremely hard all his life to make sure that his family had a better one. We will be eternally grateful to him.
He died peacefully on November 3, 2024 surrounded by his family. He is predeceased by his parents, Konstantinos and Eleni, and his brothers, Nicholaos and Georgios. He is survived by his wife Athanasia, his children, Helen, Ranie (Ogden) and Constantinos, his grandchildren, Ogden and Claire, and his cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church at 661 Montgomery Street in Jersey City. The funeral mass will begin at 10:30 AM. The burial will follow at Holy Name Cemetery at 823 West Side Avenue in Jersey City.
