Andrea Greco, 64, of Jersey City passed away peacefully on Monday, February 25, 2019 with his devoted family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife Clara, their sons Mike and Christopher, his three beautiful grandchildren Sofia, Christian, and Adriana, his sister Milena, mother-in-law Maria Ida, and his daughters-in-law Lalaine and Christine. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and caring friends.
Andrea emigrated to Jersey City from S. Arsenio, Salerno, Italy at the age of 16. After graduating from Dickinson High School, he pursued the American Dream as a restaurateur. He is best known for his ventures as the owner of Three Guys from Italy Pizzeria in Journal Square where he served slices with a side of wise cracks to the local community. If you grabbed a slice on your way to the Path train you probably ate at this iconic Jersey City pizzeria. As his business grew he opened two restaurants: the Parmigiana House and La Cantina, from which he delivered food to many local businesses. He also made it a habit to give back to the community with a food service for the homeless during Thanksgiving. Andrea was a loving father and husband who enjoyed interacting with people and will always be remembered.
The viewing will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Riotto Funeral Home, (for GPS use address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City) from 4:00pm-9:00pm. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Saint Nicholas Church, Jersey City, at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Andrea’s name to the “National Multiple Sclerosis Society” (www.nationalmssociety.org), and also to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
