Andrea (Andy) D’Ambrosio, 86, of Jersey City entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on Saturday July 13, 2024.
Born in 1937, Andy spent the majority of his life residing in Jersey City, NJ. He was a proud and dedicated bus driver for private long distance companies for over 30 years. After he retired he enjoyed working at the Meadowlands directing traffic for events. This job was a perfect fit for his friendly and outgoing personality.
Everyone who knew Andy, knows that he loved his family deeply. He was survived by his beloved wife Cynthia; son to the late, Geremio and Anna D’Ambrosio and; cherished father to Andrew D’Ambrosio (Elizabeth), Andrea Myers (Edward) , and Mark D’Ambrosio (Erin); treasured grandfather to Edward Myers, Andrew D’Ambrosio, Ashley Myers, Paul D’Ambrosio, Anna D’Ambrosio, and Kaitlyn D’Ambrosio; brother to the late Antonio, Filomena “Tootsie,” James and Guisippe “Joseph.”
Andy resided in the same house in Jersey City for 50 years and was effectively known as the mayor of Prospect St. He was loved and cherished by many neighbors on the street. He was always known for giving treats to all the passing dogs and children that walked down Prospect St.
Visitation is on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City, NJ (For GPS Navigation, it is best to use the parking lot entrance address: 14 Stagg St., Jersey City). Cremation will be private.
