Andrew “Spike” Critelli, Sr., 88, of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 2, 2021. He enjoyed watching football, boxing, and classic old movies. Andrew enjoyed listening to old country music, playing the lottery, and gambling. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Andrew was a dock worker and truck driver. He was a member of the Long Shoreman Union Locals 1730, and Teamsters Locals 522 and 560 for about 40 years. He retired in 1991.
Andrew Sr. is the beloved husband to Mary (nee Iavarone); devoted father to Mary, to the late, Andrew, Jr., and also survived by his youngest son, Anthony. He is the caring grandfather to Dana and Andrew Mastrolia, and Antoinette Critelli. Andrew is preceded in life by his parents, Anthony and Rose (nee Conti). Andrew was the brother to the late, Angela, Joseph, and Anthony; and survived by Loretta and Wayne. He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and other caring family members and friends.
Visitation is Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City. Funeral is Thursday, October 7, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at funeral home. Funeral mass is at 11:00 AM at Holy Rosary Church, 344 6th Street, Jersey City. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, N. Arlington.
