Aniceta Delgado

Aniceta (Lopes Mingola) Delgado, 97, of Jersey City, New Jersey; passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at Christ Hospital surrounded by her caring family.   Born in Brava, Cape Verde on July 7, 1925, she is the beloved daughter of the late Maria P. Lopes and Eduardo Mingola.  She came to the United States in 1959 and lived in Jersey City most of her life.   Aniceta was formerly employed by Brassiere Corporation, New York, NY as a seamstress and for a short time with Coat Factory until her retirement to take care of her late husband, John Delgado.  She enjoyed cooking for her family; and was a devout Catholic to St. Anne's Church and a member of the  Padre Pio prayer group.  

She will be missed and loved forever by all her family and friends.  She is survived by her caring daughter, Candida Andrade and her husband Avelino of Monroe Township, New Jersey; by her devoted son, Joao A. Lopes and his wife Maria Helena of Jersey City, NJ; loving grandmother of Sandra Andrade-Caivano, Ines Andrade-Fleming, Avelino Andrade, Jr., Emily Marie Lopes; a dear sister of Regina Andrade and to the late Ecilda M. Da Cruz; and by many adored nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service will be from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City).  Funeral is Tuesday, February 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the funeral home.   Funeral Mass is at 11:00 AM at St. Anne's Church, 3545 John F. Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City, NJ.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, N. Arlington.
