Anita Rajban, 64, of Jersey City, NJ, formerly of Berbice, Guyana, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
Anita Rajban was a woman of grace, strength, and deep love for her family and community. She lived her life with elegance, generosity, and quiet resilience, touching the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born to Daniel and Doris, Anita carried forward the values of family, compassion, and perseverance that shaped her life. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Roger, and a proud and loving mother to her children: Nechard and Rajnita, and son-in-law Chico. She also held a very special place in her heart for Kath, who was like a daughter to her and deeply loved as family.
Anita found immense joy in her role as a grandmother to Aanya and Ameyaa, whose lives she enriched with unconditional love, guidance, and warmth. Her legacy continues through her 17 grandchildren, each of whom was a source of pride and happiness to her.
She was a cherished sister to Ronald, the late Nero, Vinita, Ranjie, and Sunita, and a beloved sister-in-law to Davi, Gaitre, Michael, Janice, and Raj.
Anita was also a loving aunt to her six nieces and ten nephews, and embraced her extended family with open arms, including her seven sons-in-law and two daughters-in-law, whom she welcomed as her own.
Known for her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to family, Anita leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her strength, and the profound impact she made on generations of family.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ, 07306 (For GPS it is best to use our parking lot address 14 Stagg St., additional parking lot located on Kennedy Blvd.). Funeral will be on Saturday, January 24, 2026, 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Follow by cremation ceremony at Rosedale Crematory, 408 Orange Rd., Montclair, NJ, 07042.
