Anthony J. Galano, 90, of Jersey City, entered into eternal life on June 27, 2021 at his home. Born September 1, 1930 to the late Dominic & Lucille (nee: Priore), he lived all of his life in Jersey City. After graduating Ferris High School, class of 1948, he enlisted in the US Army and proudly served from 1948-1950. He was employed as a manager with Swepco, an Iron Piping company in Clifton for 40 years, while concurrently working with the Jersey City Department of Recreation as a Night Supervisor.
He retired in 1990 and began his most cherished job, grandfather; taking care of his grandchildren with his beloved wife. In his leisure time he enjoyed summer trips to Cape Cod, occasional Disney trips, and watching classic movies. He was also a huge Frank Sinatra fan, and loved attending local games of Notre Dame & the Yankees.
Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (nee: Costello)
He is the beloved father of Janet Galano, Gina Hladik & her husband Jack, and Joseph Galano & his fiancé Jennifer. Proud and loving grandfather of Matthew Hladik & his wife Meagan, J.J., Allison & Stephen. He is also survived by his sister, Leona Cotsakos.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Thursday, July 1, 2021, 11:45 a.m. at Holy Cross Mausoleum, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
