Antonia Romero

Antonia Romero, 91 of Union CIty; formerly of Salinas, Puerto Rico; entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Antonia is the beloved wife of the late Felix Romero. She is predeceased by her children Felix Romero, Oswaldo Romero, Esther Romero and Dixiana Romero. Antonia is the beloved mother of Iris Romero, Alberto Romero, Zoraida Romero, Margarita Romero, Judy Romero and Rafael Romero; loving mother in law to Aurea Cancel-Romero and Victor Troche; treasured grandmother of Henry Romero and his wife Sandy Bascom-Romero, Cynthia Felder and her husband Mark Felder, Thaddeus Rios and his wife Junne Evangelista, Michael Rodriguez and his wife Dina Rodriguez, Darren Troche and his wife Rachel Troche, Natalia Johnson, Luis Pineda, Natasha Romero and Waynet Ramos. Antonia is the adored great grandmother of Alysia Rivera, Selena Romero, Jaida Felder, Lillian “Lily” Rios, Josiah Rodriguez, Sophia Rodriguez, Felix Troche, Owen Troche, Ellis Troche and Lia Pittman. Antonia is also survived by her two brothers Luis and Raymond Alvarado.

Antonia devoted her life to raising her children. She also took pride in taking care of her grandchildren in their younger years and spending time with her great grandchildren. Antonia was known as the neighborhood grandma and was loved by so many.  She enjoyed cooking her favorite cultural dishes especially during the Christmas season, sharing stories of her younger years, family gatherings and frequent visits to her home in Puerto Rico. She will be missed immensely yet we are grateful for her 91 years and comforted by the everlasting memories we have all created with her.

Visitation is Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Boulevard, Jersey City, NJ 07306 (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City) Interment will follow at Bayview Cemetery, 321 Garfield Avenue, Jersey City.
