Antonio Ramos, 89, of Jersey City, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 28, 1936, in Aibonito, Puerto Rico, to the late Antonio Ramos, Sr. and Cristina Ramos (Sanchez).
Antonio grew up in Puerto Rico before moving to Jersey City in 1952, where he made his home for the rest of his life. He enjoyed carpentry, landscaping, barbecuing, and cheering for his beloved Mets. These interests reflected his love of creating, nurturing, and celebrating life’s simple pleasures.
He will always be remembered for his humor, kindness, and devotion to those he loved. Antonio had a natural gift for making people laugh and for bringing warmth and joy into every room he entered. His life was centered on love for his wife, his children, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and his loyal dog Cookie who was always by his side.
Antonio was the beloved husband of Yolanda Ramos. He was the devoted father of Ana Destin and her husband Leo, Anthony Ramos and his wife Nancy, Linda Burgos and her husband Jerry, Jovani Ramos and his wife Monica, and Joanne Ramos and her husband Joel. He was the cherished grandfather of Anthony, Crystal, Lyonel, Christian, Jeremy, Jerry, Joel, Lindsey, Jacob, Jovani, Johnathan, and Jayleen, and the adored great-grandfather of Jordan, Jayden, Kylie, Anthony III, Lorietta, Max, Sammy Jr., Lena, Layla, Robert, Noah, Jackson, Sophie, and Isabella.
He was predeceased by his siblings Julio, Osvaldo, Felicia, Felix, Angel Luis, and Jose “Pepe.”
