Arturo A Tolentino

Arturo Tolentino, aged 59, passed away on June 3, 2026, in Jersey City, New Jersey. Affectionately known to friends and loved ones as "Pogi," "Darna," and "Buboy," Arturo was a cherished pillar of his community, family, and profession.

Born on May 27, 1967, in Cavite, Philippines, he was the beloved son of Gregorio and Ligaya Tolentino.

For 25 years, Arturo served with distinction as a dedicated school nurse within the Jersey City Public Schools system. His compassionate care, unwavering support, and vibrant presence left an indelible mark on generations of students and colleagues alike.

Beyond his professional life, Arturo was a man of diverse passions. He was fondly recognized for his signature collection of clogs, which he wore with pride on every possible occasion. Arturo was also a skilled martial artist, where he was recognized as a Master Eskrimador. He was also an adventurous foodie and an avid traveler. Arturo delighted in organizing family excursions centered around culinary discovery, happily driving for hours just to share an exceptional meal with those he loved. Of all his travel destinations, Disney was always his favorite, earning him the affectionate title of the "OG Disney Adult" from his loved ones.

Renowned for his endless generosity, Arturo never hesitated to help those in need. He spent his weekends taking on extra jobs and home projects to build a house for a less fortunate family in Cavite. His commitment to his hometown continued when he partnered with the Jersey City Fire Department to secure and donate essential firefighting equipment to Cavite.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many. His legacy of love and laughter will be carried forward by his beloved wife Marie, his children Alexa and her husband Dominique, Kevin, Christopher and his wife Cristine. He was a proud grandfather to Isabella and a doting "grandpa" to his granddogs, Kobe, Atlas, and Maui. He is also survived by his siblings, Lorna, Ronaldo, and Maria, along with their respective families. Arturo also leaves behind a vast, loving network of extended family members and dear friends who will miss him profoundly.
