Belen Urspruch

Belen Urspruch, 83, of Jersey City, entered into eternal life peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2024. 

Belen was born in Gurabo, Puerto Rico, to Fausto Perez and Ana Ortiz. She followed her best friend Nilsa to New Jersey in 1963 to pursue a life of adventure and new beginnings. She met her beloved husband, Frank Urspruch (late) with whom she celebrated 48 years of marriage. Belen was a devoted member of St. Aedan's Catholic Church. She worked at St. Aedan's elementary school for many years in their lunch program. Belen loved traveling to spend time with her family across New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and Boston. She was an avid reader, loved reality television, and telenovelas. She surrounded herself with music and loved to dance and sing. She was an amazing cook and made sure to pass down some of her amazing Puerto Rican recipes to her loved ones and friends. 

Belen is survived by her loving children, Tara Fallon and her husband Keith, Teresa Bayles and her husband Jonathan, Doralynn Torrillo and her husband Antonio, William Urspruch and his husband Bautista, and Erik Urspruch and his wife Melissa. Her cherished grandchildren, Ciara, Brian, Colin, Oskar, Kenneth, Ashley, William, and Jessica. Her dear, great grandson, Joey. Also surviving are many loved nieces and nephews. Belen was predeceased by her husband, Frank and her siblings, Margarita, Isolina, Oscar, and Victor. 

Visitation is Friday, September 27, 2024, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Riotto Funeral Home (For GPS, please use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306). Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Belen's name to the St. Jude's Children Hospital at www.StJude.Org/donate.
