Bogdan Lakhotskiy, 74, of Jersey City entered into eternal rest with his loving wife by his side on Thursday, February 11, 2021. Born in Bovshiv, Halych, Ukraine, he was a skilled carpenter who adoringly built a home for his daughter from the ground up. Bogdan brought precision and excellence to every project he undertook. In 1992, he emigrated to the United States where he became a faithful parishioner of Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church and member of the Ukrainian National Home in Jersey City. He enjoyed traditional Ukrainian music and food, as well as spending time with his family.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bogdan is survived by his caring wife, Bogdana; his daughter, Oxana and her husband, Vasyl with granddaughter Halyna and her husband, Oleksii and their son, James, with granddaughter Dana and her husband Michael; his son, Vasyl and his wife, Olha with granddaughter Maryana and grandson Bogdan; his son, Roman and his wife, Aleksandra with grandsons Roman jr. and Andrew; his brother, Ivan and his wife, Myroslava with their family. Bogdan was preceded in death by his parents, Vasyl and Anna, and his brother, Roman.
Visitation is Monday, February 15, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Jersey City. Funeral is Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 10:00 AM at SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Jersey City. Interment is at Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Campbell Hall, NY.
