Bruno Folcarelli, 66, of Jersey City; formerly of Pontecorvo, Italy; entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 16, 2021 surrounded by his loving family after courageously fighting cancer. His family will always remember him as “a true warrior who faced his illness with hope, grace, and unwavering strength. He was the life of the party.” Bruno studied in Italy, and came to the United States in 1973 at the age of 18. He worked as a carpenter and a general contractor before starting his own company, Pontecorvo Construction. He was later employed by the Jersey City Parking Authority for over 25 years. His passion in life was his family and his hobbies. He was a champion wine maker and a food artisan, who was fond of making homemade cheese, sausage, and tomato sauce. He was devoted to family gatherings and going to casinos with his family. He loved hunting in upstate New York. Bruno enjoyed traveling to Mexico, Dominican Republic, and to his hometown in Italy to be with his family and friends. He was an avid coin, cards, and stamp collector. He met the love of his life, Assunta Cupo in the early 80’s. They married on October 15, 1983, and started a loving family shortly thereafter.
Bruno is survived by his devoted wife, Assunta; his children, Giuseppe Bruno and Maria Rosaria; his siblings, Fernando and his wife Mirella, Angela Santopietro-Bove and her husband Antonio, Roberto and his wife Annamaria, Annamaria Rescinito, Amedeo and his wife Dana; and by his many loving nieces, nephews, and caring relatives.
