Carlos Manuel Antomattei was born October 10, 1958 in New York, NY, and will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, and a man of strong character who was always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed him. Carlos spent much of his life in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, and the Bronx before settling in Jersey City, NJ after marriage. He took great pride in his work with the 34th Street Partnership, where he dedicated more than 20 years of service.
Music was one of Carlos' greatest passions. He had a deep love for Latin and jazz music and built an expansive collection of vinyl records, CDs, and cassette tapes over the years. He especially enjoyed playing the congas, whether at home or spending time in the park. Music was an important part of his life and something that brought him great enjoyment.
Carlos was also known for his strong personality, generosity, and willingness to help others. Beneath his strong character was a caring man who could always be counted on by his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maria; his devoted son, Carlos; his treasured daughter, Angelyn; his cherished grandson, Zayne; and by many loving relatives and friends who will deeply miss him. He was the beloved son of Candido and Carmen (nee Fuentes) Antomattei.
