Carlos Joel Robles Maria
Known to many as “CeeJay,” but to his mother, he was “Mi Bebo.”
He was born on April 7, 1993, in North Bergen, New Jersey.
He is the son of Carlos José Robles and Zoila Xiomara Maria, and the brother of Leidy Marlene Maldonado, Patty Carolina Robles-Uffre, and Josue Gael Robles.
Joel was a vibrant child from a young age, known for his beautiful smile, his kindness, but above all, his humility. Always willing to help anyone in need. Joel was intelligent and had a beautiful spirit. He was an incredible human being to everyone who had the blessing of knowing him.
Joel attended school in Jersey City, NJ, and later in Elizabeth, NJ.
He graduated from Kean University in Elizabeth, where he earned a degree in Computer Engineering in 2023, a passion he had since childhood. In 2024, he began working at the insurance company Liberty Mutual, where he was extremely excited about the opportunity. Even though he hadn’t been there long, he was promoted three times, with his most recent position being Software Engineer.
Joel was a devoted son, brother, cousin, godbrother, grandson, nephew, uncle, and friend. He gave himself wholeheartedly and loved deeply.
He moved from New Jersey to Florida, where his mother had the chance to share both his triumphs and challenges. In April 2025, he accepted the Lord into his heart, which brought his mother great joy and peace, knowing that Joel is now in the presence of his Heavenly Father and Creator.
Today, we choose to celebrate his life, not his departure. As the Word says in Job 1:21,
“The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home and Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ, 07306 (for GPS it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg St. Additional parking can be found on Kennedy Blvd.) Cremation will be private.
Carlos Joel Robles Maria
