Carmela Picariello

Carmela Picariello "Nonna", 85, of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, while surrounded by her loving family. 

Carmela was born in Catelvetere, Sul Calore, Avellino, Italy, where she resided before immigrating to Uruguay in 1957. In 1974 she moved to Jersey City where she lived for the remainder of her life. 

Carmela loved cooking and watching television. Most of all, she cherished spending time with family especially on Sundays.

Carmela was predeceased by her husband, Guglielmo in 1993. 

She is survived by her dear children: Anna Marie Picariello and her husband Walter, Lina Campos and her husband Luis, and Fernando Picariello. Her loving grandchildren: Vanessa, Frankie, Daniel, Alberto, Cristina, Gabriella, Gelsomina, Guglielmo, and Melissa, and her beloved great grandchildren: Orion, Sofia, Giovanni, Lucas, Layla, Ava, Giuliana, and Mateo. Also surviving is her loving sister: Maria Moccia

Visitation is on Friday, July 31, 2020, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at RIOTTO FUNERAL HOME & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306. A Funeral Mass will follow 1:00 PM at St. Nicholas Church, Jersey.  Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
