Carmelo Marmora

Carmelo Marmora, of Jersey City, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the age of 94.

Carmelo loved working with his hands and took special care to do everything he did well.  He was always ready to lend an expert helping hand – especially on projects for his friends and family.  We all benefited from his tireless devotion and hard work.

Carmelo also loved spending time in his garden and meticulously maintained and nurtured every plant.  But the thing he was most proud of was his wine.  When September rolled around, it was time for the yearly ritual, and the aroma of fermenting grapes permeated throughout the house. Once again, we all benefited!      

Carmelo was preceded in death by his wife Maria, his parents Antonio & Barbara, and his brother Antonio.  His memory will live on in the hearts of his children, Antonio & Maria Pia Marmora, Mariella Silvana & Gabe Totino; grandchildren Raffaele (Britt), Anthony (Erik), Michael (Casey), Stefan, Giovanni; great-grandchildren Luca, Emma, Cameron; sister Giovanna; and his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Carmelo loved spending time with his family and sharing stories of his home town Gioi, Cilento. We will all miss him but he will always live in our hearts. Should the memory of his presence fade just a bit, all we have to do is look around us, and we will find something that he laid his hands on to quickly bring it back.

Visitation is Sunday, November 10, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City.
