Carol Marie Smith

Carol Marie Smith, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025. She grew up in Union City before making Jersey City her home.

Carol was truly one of a kind—a woman with a heart as big as her sense of humor. She had a remarkable ability to bring joy to those around her, always determined to leave people with a smile. Fierce yet full of love, she was both a fighter and a nurturer, wrapped in a personality larger than life.

She was a devoted sister to Debra Philips and her husband Gregory, and a attentive sister-in-law to Michael TiDeschi. Carol was also a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews: Ken, Val, Madison, Nicole, Rachel, Joey, David, Danielle, Denise, Margaret Ann, and Howie. She now joins her parents, Helen and Joseph Billek, and William Smith, as well as her siblings—Rita Smith, Thomas Smith, Joan Smith, Helen TiDeschi—and her niece, Doreen Weaver, in eternal peace.

Carol’s presence filled every room with laughter and warmth, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. A private ceremony will be held to honor her life.

As she takes her rightful place among the stars, we leave her with these parting words:
