Carolyn Mohammed, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 25, 2020. She was born in Trinidad on July 3, 1957 to her parents, Seebarran and Roselyn Dhunda. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in October of 1976. In 1993, she moved from Trinidad to Jersey City, NJ, where she became a lifelong resident. Carolyn was very hard working, fashionable, and took pride in always being well put together. She loved to laugh and enjoyed planting, gardening, baking, and painting. She took pleasure in sharing her hobbies with her adored grandchildren, including teaching them to cook. She was a self-taught painter and has been painting for over 20 years. She enjoyed preaching and spoke about her religion to many people and encouraged them to make God’s word their own. Her family will remember her always by how extremely hospitable, loving, and kind she was.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Aleem; her children, Abigail and her husband, Gerald, Knobbie and his wife, Shyrae, and Adrian and his wife Sarah; her siblings, Franklyn, Marilyn, Helen, Selwyn, Alwyn, Collyn, Joylyn. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Eric, Jake, Jadyn, and Caleb. Carolyn is predeceased in life by her parents, Seebarran and Roselyn Dhunda, and her younger brother Rawlyn.
Visitation for Carolyn is Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Jersey City. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street). Funeral is Friday, February 28, 2020 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at funeral home. Interment will follow at 10:00 AM at Arlington Cemetery, Kearny.
Additional services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 23 South Street, Jersey City, NJ beginning at 6:00 PM.
