Cecilia Vega de Espinosa passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of faith, strength, generosity, and devotion.
Cecilia was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and guiding force in the lives of all who knew her. She is survived by her loving children, Carlos and his wife Luz, Rosa, Jorge, Beatriz and her husband Ruben, Isabel and her husband German, Claudia and her husband Richard, and Gloria and her husband William. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Lizzette, Carlo, Matthew, Leeza, Katherine, Velvet, Jorge Jr., and Brianna, as well as her adored great grandchildren, Christian, Tatiana, and Leo, lovingly known as “Pancho Pinto.” She is also survived by her dear brother, Efrain.
Cecilia will be remembered as a woman of deep faith and unwavering values. She always encouraged her family to do the right thing and to believe in God. Her children are who they are today because of her strong beliefs, steady guidance, and loving example. She was known affectionately as “the Sergeant” and “Una Beraca,” a reflection of her strength, spirit, and commanding presence within her family.
She was also a fantastic cook, especially known for her delicious papa choriada, which brought comfort and joy to those gathered around her table. Cecilia was always a giver, someone who gave of herself freely and loved her family wholeheartedly. Her warmth, wisdom, and strength will be deeply missed, but her influence will live on in the generations she helped shape.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone in hospice, as well as the team at Holy Name, for their care, compassion, and support during this difficult time. Cecilia will be forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
