Consuelo "Nanay" Jimenez Duan
February 17, 1930 –May 12, 2025

Consuelo Jimenez Duan, lovingly known as "Nanay," passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born on February 17, 1930 in San Francisco, California; Consuelo spent her early childhood in the U.S. before moving back to the Philippines where she was raised. In 1982, she returned to the United States to be closer to her growing family.

A devoted homemaker and housewife, Nanay dedicated her life to her loved ones, offering warmth, wisdom, and strength through the years. She was sweet and mischievous, known for her courageous spirit and fighter’s heart. Whether she was solving a sudoku puzzle, enjoying a lively game of bingo, baking treats for her grandchildren, or crafting with care, Nanay approached life with creativity and joy.

Consuelo is survived by her loving children: Teresita Madrona, David J. Duan, Divina Duan, Danilo Duan, Carlito Duan, Alma Duan, and Joseph Duan, as well as many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She now reunites in peace with her beloved sisters, Mary Encarnacion Ybanez and Bonita Josephine Jimenez Sarita, who preceded her in death.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Deacon Efren, Father Thomas of Mt. Carmel, the compassionate staff at Palisades Medical Center, and especially Haydee, Justin, Kyle, and Chelda Duan. Your love and care brought comfort and dignity to Nanay’s final days. We also recognize and deeply appreciate the support of the entire extended family, whose presence and devotion meant so much.

As we remember and celebrate Nanay’s life, we hold close the words of Scripture that so beautifully reflect her spirit: Proverbs 31:25-27 "Strength and honor are her clothing; she is confident about the future."

Visitation is Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 Kennedy Blvd. Jersey City. (For GPS navigation, it is best to use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street). Funeral is Friday, May 16, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10: 30 AM at the funeral home.  Funeral mass is at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 99 Broadway, Jersey City. Entombment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Ave. Jersey City, NJ.
