Daiwantee Koran

Daiwantee Koran, born on December 23, 1952, in Guyana, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, June 20, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late, Jhingie and Walter Ramsaroop.

Daiwantee grew up in Guyana and later made her home in the United States, where she built a beautiful life centered around family, love, and togetherness. She enjoyed watching Indian movies, shopping, and cooking for family and friends. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her loved ones. Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by family and sharing life’s special moments together.

She was kind, gentle, strong, and patient, with a calm presence that brought comfort to those around her. Daiwantee’s selfless nature, generosity, compassion, and wonderful sense of humor made her truly unforgettable. She touched countless lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Daiwantee is survived by her beloved husband, Mohan Koran; her loving children, Sharda, Asha, Nado, Runita, Lurita, and Kumar; her cherished grandchildren, Preity, Sumit, Adi, Angalie, Shanie, Sonia, Nickhel, Mark, Brandon, Alex, Hope, Faith, Joshua, Tonuja, Kushan, Vicky, Annie, and Lisa; and her adored great-grandchildren, Lukas, Arya, Sofia, Alya, and Amira. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Tara, Lako, Aileen, Jean, Shamo.  She was predeceased in life by her sisters Lela and Lynet; and by her brothers Sunny, Krisho, and Black.

In her final days, Daiwantee was lovingly cared for by her children, husband, and grandchildren. The family would also like to express their sincere gratitude to VNA Hospice Care for their compassionate care and support. Though she is no longer with us, the love she shared and the memories she created will live on through her family for generations to come.

Visitation is Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City, NJ 07306 (For GPS, please use our parking lot address: 14 Stagg Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306). Funeral is Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the funeral home.  Cremation services will follow at 11:00 AM at Garden State Crematory, 4101 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Bergen.
