Damary Bencosme was a strong, upright woman with a great heart, recognized for her vocation of service and her ability to guide and accompany those who needed her most. As an educator and professional with a Bachelor's degree in Biology, she dedicated her life to teaching, inspiring, and motivating generations with her example of discipline, faith, and commitment.
Beyond her academic and professional journey, Damary stood out as a mentor and counselor to many, offering support, wisdom, and strength in times of need. Her life reflected the essence of a true leader: one who does not seek personal recognition, but rather the well-being and growth of others.
Damary was the proud mother of four children: Yajaira Bencosme, Baldwin Fernández (†), Wendoli Fernández, and blessed with her only biological daughter, Cesarína Santos Bencosme. Her legacy of love extends to her grandchildren: Aura Herrera-Santos, Arianna Herrera, Yunior Lugo, Edwin Bruno, Rachel Bruno, Oriel Núñez, Mayanel Amparo, Gabriel Fernández, Nicole Fernández, Alexander Fernández. And it multiplies even more in the new generation of great-grandchildren: Alaya Sotelo, Aiden Díaz Marte, and Masón Díaz Marte, who represent the continuity of her values and teachings.
As a sister, Damary maintained an unbreakable bond with María Dolores Bencosme Méndez, José Ramón Bencosme Méndez, Rafael A. Peralta, Ana Antonia Bencosme, and Aura Gómez Jorge, with whom she shared not only family ties, but also unity, respect, and cherished memories.
The story of Damary Bencosme is the story of a woman who never gave up, who turned challenges into learning, and whose example continues to be a light and a guide for those whose lives she touched. Her greatest legacy is not only the accomplishments she achieved, but the love, faith, and inspiration she left in every life she encountered.
